    Double bladed dagger or fighting knife with steel blade, brass crossguard and bone handle held by 4 rivets on each side. Small inlaid blank silver plaque on one side of handle. Letters AKXLN inside a square on the ricasso above the guard on one side. Leather sheath with belt loops. Possibly a Civil War knife. Original number 38 is on both knife & sheath.

    Knife and leather sheath. Old number 55. Knife has a manufactured blade and probably a homemade wooden handle. The maker mark is partially visible on the blade. It has a scrollworked frame around words. It appears to begin with CE, but the rest has been rubbed flat, and so is very hard to identify. The handle is cracked down the middle and has been nailed back together with three nails. The leather sheath can be looped over a belt.

    U. S. Navy Mark 2 knife and sheath. " Robeson Shuredge" is printed on the blade. Sheath is lightweight and can be hung from a belt. Used by Donald H. Ostlie in World War II. Donald Ostlie enlisted in the U. S. Navy on June 26, 1944 and was sent over with the amphibious forces to fight in World War II in the South Pacific at Okinawa and Iwo Jima. He was one of many who landed in Japan on V-Day.

    German made trench knife and metal sheath from World War I. Wooden handle; leather belt strap on metal case. Marked "Germany" with unreadable trademark. Belonged to Albert Lunow Jr., member of the homeguard, Silver Lake, 1917. Albert Otto Lunow was born March 7, 1899; married Lillian L. Drew June 17, 1924; he died August 9, 1972. His WWI draft registration card was dated September 12, 1918.

    Crude handmade block knife dated prior to 1900. Old number 144. Consists of a metal blade with wood grip attached to a 10" wood square on four peg legs. A smaller rotating wood block is mounted on top slightly off center and attached to a peg underneath. Knife was used to cut out rough wood shapes for the woodshop. Also called a stock knife. A large version is pictured in "A Museum of Early American Tools"" by Eric Sloane, pp.9 & 85.
