Description |
Heavy knife "US Model 1917 C.T." with black blade and double sheath. The inner sheath is covered with stretched skin stitched with sinew; the outer sheath of canvas with a leather tip is marked "A-K-Co. 1918 R.H.S." and can be attached to a belt. Possessed by Donald H. Ostlie in World War II. Donald Ostlie enlisted in the U. S. Navy on June 26, 1944 and was sent over with the amphibious forces to fight in World War II in the South Pacific at Okinawa and Iwo Jima. He was one of many who landed in Japan on V-Day. |
