Newspaper clipping photograph of Hutchinson's first hotel, the old American House. Undated. Mounted on cardboard. Marked on back as a loan to the Historical Society June 26, 1915(?) by W. H. Hartman. The main right hand part of the American House was built by Jack Dieter. Wm. Sumner bought and moved it to the corner later occupied by J. A. Tmey's clothing store. Drawing - Pendergast Academy, Hutchinson, MN
1880 Pencil drawing of Pendergast Academy that was burned down by Little Crow's band of Indians during the Dakota Uprising in 1862. It was Hutchinson's first school house. Another drawing is 1988-0409-002. One or both were drawn by John Fickling, a student in the school. This drawing appears to have been done professionally.
