Description |
Artwork print titled "Spirit of 1862". Created by McLeod County Sheriff Scott Rehman with photographer Jon Otteson for Rehman's submission for the Night of the Arts' Celebrity Art Auction held June 1, 2012 at the McLeod County Fairgrounds, Hutchinson. The collage of Civil War and 1862 Conflict era artifacts and photographs pictured were from the collections of the McLeod County Historical Museum. Rehmann and Otteson used the pieces to create a one of a kind work of art that captures the intensity of the cultural clash that tore Minnesota and McLeod County apart in 1862. The second annual Night of the Arts event featured social hour music by the Whatchamacallits, a French-style garden party dinner, DJ music for dancing and the Celebrity fund-raiser auction with auctioneer Jim Fahey. Kathy Wnoroski was director of the Hutchinson Center for the Arts which sponsored the event. Other celebrity artists were Dr. Steve Mulder, Jeff Haag, Hutchinson Police Chief Dan Hatten & Sgt. Joe Nagel, Kay Johnson & Lynn Lauer, Dr. John & Lena Mowlem. |
