1776-1976 United States of America Bicentennial flag for the American Bicentennial Klawitter Family. Purchased by the donor from an advertisement in a newspaper or magazine. Cotton with stiff paper and two grommets on one end. Donor quotes: "The Bicentennial year was a year of celebration. The thing I remember most about it was that the men were growing beards. My husband Ed tried it also, but when it got so long he said it itched too much so he shaved it off and I said to myself 'Thank goodness'. |
