This quilt was donated to the Mcleod County Museum in 2003 by Charlotte Gilbert Romain, great- granddaughter of the quilt maker Josephine Brewer Gilbert who was married to Gideon K. Gilbert, one of the earliest (1857) settlers of Glencoe, MN. This quilt was signed and dated by the maker, Dec.8,1888. The quilt is in the museum's collection, 2003-0177-002.

    Crazy Quilt made by Nelly Drew Hutchinson. Completed in 1888. Made from assorted fabrics with embroidered topstitching between the pieces. The quilt was a winner of many Fair Awards. Donated by Nelly's daughter Elizabeth Hutchinson Fournie of Minneapolis, MN September 23, 1989. Nelly Drew married Oliver D. Hutchinson on September 10, 1878. Oliver was a son of Asa B. and Elizabeth Chace Hutchinson.

Made of used everyday clothing fabrics in plain and prints of orange, green, brown, and blue with colorful quilting stitches along the seams.
