Penny postcard, addressed to John Knaff, City. The reverse has a news clipping from the summer of 1937. The text questions the wisdom of planting 1,000 trees, with no plan in place to care and water. The letter goes on to say most all (the trees) were dead or dying. Sam Anderson mentioned as turning over in his grave. The letter is signed, A Subscriber. Written in ink, is a statement calling for cooperation, and of some of the trees the writer saved. The card was postmarked on July 31,1936 |
