Surveyor's measuring wheel. Used to measure the acreage of fields by the Agroci;tira; Stabo;ozatopm amd Cpmservatopm Servoces (ASCS) and Farm Service Agency (FSA), Glencoe. MN. Maker's mark: "Cederholm Measuring Wheels, Measure Every Foot of the Globe", Cederholm Manufacturing Co., Bastrop, Texas. Metal wheel painted red with gauge on handle. Carl Cederholm invented these wheels in the 1930s. They were manufactued in So. Worthington, MA through 1955 and then in Bastrop, TX until 1997. The whole family worked in the business along with other employees. Some of the wheels are still in use by farmers and realtors (5 ft model). [Carol Cederholm Reidy 05/31/2022] |
