Ink drawing of Martin McLeod, 1813-1860, drawn for the McLeod County Historical Society for the local 1776-1976 United States of America Bicentennial medal. The medal featured the picture of Martin McLeod on the reverse side. Drawn and lettered on Bainbridge Board. Donor stated that her husband Wayne Kenning belonged to the Hutchinson Coin Club which had the medal made for fund raising purposes for the McLeod County Historical Society. The medals sold for $1.00 each. Museum has one of the medals 2012-0102-001. The original charcoal drawing of Martin McLeod, Traverse des Sioux, July 17th, 1851 was drawn by Les C. Kouba in 1935 on textured paper (2011-0001-218). A facsimile of the drawing was used on the cover of the 1978 McLeod County History book. |
