Description |
Knights of Columbus Plaque of bright gold plate and simulated mother of pearl with red highlights. The Knights of Columbus emblem is in the center. Belonged to Lorenzo Burville, father of donor Marjorie Ruzicka. The Columbian coat of arms contains three symbolic elements: the sword, the anchor and the battle axe. The sword symbolizes honor and bravery; the anchor represents that which stablilzes; the battle axe symbolizes overcoming obstacles; the bundle represents teamwork; the helmet represents rank of nobility; the little white triangle above the helmet stands for the flame which lights and guides. The color blue representing the sky or God is the symbol of hope and peace; the silver is innocence and pure intention; the gold denotes the richness that comes with hard work; the red symbolizes valor and heroism in giving one's self in the fight for one's faith and rights. |
