Framed wedding portrait, done in a crayon/colorized drawing, of Peter Feltmann and Mary Franck, married December 16, 1910. They are shown in wedding attire with the bride's floral bouquet, bride's headpiece and groom's boutonniere highlighted in white and green. The bride's dress and veil are white and she has a gold pin at her neck. The groom has a dark suit and a white bowtie. A wooden chair sits in front of the couple. Wood frame painted gold, ornate borders; glass Peter Feltmann was born January 20, 1886, son of Arnold Feltman and Anna Heimkes, in Benton Township, Carver County. On December 16, 1910 he married Mary Franck. Before his marriage Peter was employed at Young America Creamery for a number of years. In 1910 he purchased a farm two miles south of Lester Prairie where the couple made their home and which he operated until 1951 when they moved into a new home in Glencoe, MN. Peter assisted the Perschau Bros. with work at their mink ranch in later years. He had served as supervisor of the Bergen Township Board for 19 years, of which he served as chairman part of this time. He served a number of years as treasurer of School District No. 5 near Lester Prairie and was a member of the Lester Prairie Farmers Creamery. He died April 28, 1957. Mary E. Franck was born December 16, 1890 in Benton Township, Carver County, one of ten children of Andrew and Mary Roth Franck. She married Peter Feltmann and the couple resided in the Lester Prairie community for over forty years. She died July 5, 1966. |
