Description |
Wide brown leather belt with shoulder strap, brass buckles and belt end knob. Has double holes on belt and single holes on strap. Belonged to No.19: Gust Kurth. Probably worn as a member of the Hutchinson Band directed by Gust's father Frederick Kurth. Gustav John Kurth was born April 22, 1877, son of Fred and Fredericka//Sophia Schroeder Kurth. On April 19, 1901 he married Wilhelmina Tews. Gust played in the Kurth Famly Orchestra, known as the "Little German Band" and, following in his father's footsteps, Gust became director of the Cedar Mills Band. He spent his life working as a salesman and died May 9, 1963. |
