Description |
Winter coat of maroon wool with double collar of orange/blonde sheared mouton fur. Coat has four large front buttons, two slit pockets and lining. Sleeves have cuff. Belonged to Mathilda Ahlbrecht (Mrs. Richard Ahlbrecht) in the 1950s. A photo of her wearing the coat outside her daughter Pearl's garage near a high snowbank is 2021-0083-001. Mathilda Ahlbrecht was the mother of Pearl Ahlbrecht Baysinger (Mrs. Luallen) and grandmother of Linda Baysinger-Peck. The Luallen Baysinger family lived on Clark St, Hutchinson, MN in the 1950s where the photo was taken. Mathilda Demenge Ahlbrecht was born March 27, 1890, daughter of Franz and Minnie Weber Demenge. Her brothers were Will Demenge, Martin Demenge and Walter Demenge. She and Richard Ahlbrecht were married on October 27, 1920. Mathilda Ahlbrecht died April 14, 1971. |
