Promotional novelty Ralston Purina Company red & white checkered necktie in original box. Advertising novelty for Gehlen Farm Supply, Silver Lake, MN, which handled Purina Chow. Label: by Cavalier of Louisville. 100% polyester. In October, 1951 Joe W. Gehlen and Louis Noske bought the Rivers Feed Mill, Silver Lake, and Joe managed it. Joe bought out Louie and renamed it Gehlen Farm Service, Inc. He was all Ralston Purina. He also sold other farm supplies, such as twine and fencing, as well as Snapper products like lawn mowers, snow blowers, chain saws, and other small farm equipment. In 1984 Joe sold the mill to Leonard O'Brien. Donor Bernice Gehlen was Joe's wife and daughter of Henry & Mary Podhrasky. |
