"Blues, Snows, Rain & Barley" |
Description |
Framed print "Blues, Snow, Rain and Barley" painted by Minnesota wildlife artist Les Kouba. A flock of Blue & Snow Geese is landing to join thirteen others in a barley field studded with puddles from rain. A grain elevator, CN boxcar and farmstead is in the background. The elevator sign reads "Prairie Co-op Elevator Association, Pool No. 13, Service at Cost." 1061/2500. Signed by Les Kouba in lower right corner. Wood frame; glass. The snow goose has two color plumage morphs, white (snow) or gray/blue (blue), thus the common description as "snows" and "blues." White-morph birds are white except for black wing tips, but blue-morph geese have bluish-grey plumage replacing the white except on the head, neck and tail tip. |
