Description |
Sheer ecru crepe and lace wedding dress with a lace cape collar and sleeves over the sleeveless crepe dress. Has a lace panel below the waist that extends into two vertical lace panels on the front. A silver clip at the center of the scoop neckline matches the silver belt buckle. The sheer net veil extends from a circular headband that has artificial seeds and flowers. The dress belonged to 19 year old Hilda Kroells who was married to Walter Dose on June 10, 1931 at the Evangelical Church in Lester Prairie by Rev. E. Becker. The reception was in the newly built barn on the Henry & Ida Bathen Dose family farm two miles southwest of Lester Prairie, which the couple rented for nearly six years before purchising a farm two miles southeast of Lester Prairie. The couple was married for 62 years before Walter died in 1993. Hilda died in 2004. They were the parents of donor Emmert Dose. Museum has two wedding photographs of the couple with the bride wearing her wedding dress and veil 2011-0110-002 & -2011-0110-003. |
