Description |
Wedding gown, veil, tiara, and hoop that belonged to Phyllis Zierke Weseloh. She married Datlof Weseloh on June 10, 1944 at Cokato Lutheran Church. They celebrated their 65th anniversary at the Museum on July 26, 2009. The dress is net over a silk underlayer. The bodice has double net flounces edged with lace from the shoulders to the midriff. There is also lace edging at the neck and on the long net sleeves at the wrists. Back has a long button closure and ends in a train. The veil of net is double and was attached to the tiara headdress. The hoop of net has two circular stays and an elastic waistband. The museum also has the dress blue naval uniform 2009-0265-002 worn by Datlof Weseloh for the wedding. A wedding photo of the couple is 2009-0265-003. |
