Description |
Hand corn/seed planter. Stenciled "The Triumph" on one side. Manufactured by A. C. Kent, Janesville, Wisconsin. Wood with metal box for seeds and metal chute above two metal plates at bottom. Arthur C. Kent was a local distiller in Janesville, Wisconsin in the late 1800's. In 1872 he came up with the idea for this "seeder". He patented the idea and began making the Kent Triumph hand corn planter. This was the official start of the A.C. Kent Company. He later also sold clothes wringers, fanning mills, etc. until about 1912 or 1913. |
