Woman's long black dress, slip and hat |
Description |
Fashionable woman's outfit has long black velvet dress with matching hat and long black slip to be worn underneath. Worn by Hattie Pulkrabek Sustacek in the 1920s. The elegant dress has short sleeves with ruch gathers. An upturned velvet ruffle and row of artificial red flowers border the front of the gathered scoop neckline. A large velvet bow graces the back waist. Floor length soft draped skirt. Side zipper. Matching flat hat is black wool adorned with feather in a red gathered yoyo topped with gilt metal "S"; purple silk lining; size 7 1/4. Long black slip is sheer & has criss-crossed net effect in front. Hattie was born September 25, 1903 and died December 28, 1968. She married Emil F. Sustacek on November 25, 1925. Emil and Hattie Sustacek lived on a 60 acre farm at Rural Route 2 on the north and southeast corner of 177th Street and Nickel Avenue, three miles east of Hutchinson, MN. (40 acres of this farm originally belonged to Hattie's parents Frantisek and Mary Pulkrabek.) Emil and Hattie Sustacek were parents of donor John Sustacek. |
