Description |
Eversharp knife sharpener. Has center sharpening discs and could be mounted to a board. Made by the Eversharp Company of New Haven, Conn. Belonged to the Lauzer family. Donor Abby Lauzer Andrews was the daughter of Simon and Anna Tmey Lauzer, who married in 1875 after coming to America with their separate families. They lived a year in Waverly and then in 1876 bought a farm four miles east of Hutchinson on the Bear Lake Road. There they raised a family of six children. Abby Lauzer graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1912 and from the University of Minnesota in Home Economics. Abby was the last surviving member of the Lauzer family. |
