Description |
Navy blue wedding bodice worn by Mary Pahlman for her marriage to Heinrich "Henry" Sanken on June 28, 1894. Bodice has a high collar and front lapels enclosing a center gathered insert of figured blue and tan fabric. Front hook & eye closure. Edges of collar, lapels and bodice bottom are trimmed in narrow navy ribbon. Vee style bottom at back; inner stays and tan/brown cotton lining. Long sleeves have ribbon trim and figured fabric, matching the center insert, gathered at the sleeve bottoms. Sleeves are also lined in tan/brown cotton. (Upper parts of the blue sleeves have been cut away revealing the tan lining and sleeves have been removed from the bodice.) |
