"Cans in Lifting Fog" |
Description |
Framed print "Cans in Lifting Fog" painted by Minnesota wildlife artist Les Kouba. In this painting Kouba painted a flock of canvasback ducks gathering in a quiet bay in the morning. Five of thirteen ducks are in the foreground. The fog is beginning to break. The morning sun is burning through the lifting fog. "Cans In Lifting Fog" was published in 1983. 104/2500. Signed by Les Kouba in lower right corner. Wood frame; glass. The canvasback duck migrates through the Mississippi Flyway to wintering grounds in the mid-Atlantic United States and the Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley, or the Pacific Flyway to wintering grounds along the coast of California. Historically, the Chesapeake Bay wintered the majority of canvasbacks, but with the recent loss of submerged aquatic vegetation in the bay, their range has shifted south. |
