Knights Templar Sir Knight Chapeau (hat) and triangular hat case that belonged to Kenneth Butler, Hutchinson, MN. The Chapeau body is of hard felt, covered in black velvet trimmed with black grosgrain ribbon & silver stripes. One side is has an embroidered Passion Cross in red velvet with silver border on a velvet/satin rosette. Hat has a white Ostrich Plume on the top. The interior is lined in satin and finished with a leather like sweatband. Label: The Lilley Ames Co., Columbus, O. Original owner's name "Philip E. Graf" is printed in silver below the label. Includes a custom made hat cover of black waterproof material, probably to be worn when it rains. Triangular chapeau case has removable lid, carrying handle and strap with push button closure. Vinyl type covering on case. Luggage tag with name Kenneth Butler, 595 Juul Rd, Hutchinson, MN. Museum has Knights Templar sword 2014-0168-001 that belonged to Lewis Harrington Merrill, sword 1997-0027-003 of Ross Sheppard and uniform 2015-0204-006 of Axel Jensen. Photograph 1988-0918-002 shows W. E. Sivright wearing a chapeau, uniform & sword and 2009-0354-004 shows Fred Hartwig wearing a chapeau & uniform. |
