Painting by Carl Melichar of a pair of Canada geese on the ground at Les Kouba Point, Hutchinson, MN. A large boulder has a plaque designating the park area for Les C. Kouba. Three more geese fly overhead and the new School Road bridge is in the background. Canvas; wood frame; no glass. Les Kouba Point was dedicated in 1978. On May 3, 1984 Carl Melichar presented the painting to the McLeod County Heritage Center. Notations on the back of the frame about size and arrangement of a print are signed by I. Hurt and dated 4-22-84. 400 limited edition prints autographed by Melichar were available for those contributing $500 or more over three years to the Heritage Center fund. Prints of the painting were available at the Down Home Tribute to Les Kouba and the McLeod County Historical Society fundraiser Buffalo Feed at the Pla-Mor Ballroom, Glencoe, MN on January 31, 1987. A photograph of Carl Melichar and Roger Peck at the event holding a print of the painting is 1999-0004-006.
