AllWin folding/collapsible baby go-cart stroller. c.1908-10. Made by Sidway Mercantile Company, Elkhart, Indiana. Black steel frame; steel handle with wood grip and nickle corners. Black cloth upholstery on hood, seat, back, and foot well. Steel & rubber spoke wheels with back left foot brake. Leather seat strap. Purchased by donors at an auction in Hutchinson. In June 1905 Charles A. Sidway came to Elkhart, Indiana and established the Sidway Mercantile Company. The firm incorporated in May 1906 and sold folding baby carriages world-wide. The strollers were known as the "Go-cart from Elkhart". |
