Digital color photograph of Boy Scout Park at Bluff Street and Highway 7 East Hutchinson, MN, featuring a bronze statue on a base of St. Cloud, Minnesota granite. Originally created in 1914 by Dr. R. Tait McKenzie as a statuette of an ideal Boy Scout, it was enlarged to six feet and copies placed in public parks nationwide to honor the centennial of the Boy Scouts of America. Its inscription reads, "Scouting. . . Good for Life: An American Tradition since 1910." Boy Scouting began in Hutchinson, MN in 1911 under the direction of H.L. Merrill. |
