Framed photograph of the Hartman Hotel, Hutchinson MN taken c.1876. Men, women & children are below and on the porch. Horses & buggy and barn are at left. John & Johanna Hartman were the hotelkeepers. They were parents of Otto S.Hartman, Marie Hartman Ritter, Charles J. Hartman, William H. Hartman, Laura Hartman Hanvey and grandparents of Frederick Whitney Hanvey. Framed in a dark brown oval wooden frame with four floral motifs and a gold inside border adjacent to the glass. The building was originally the American House, Hutchinson's first hotel. It was built by Jack Dieter who sold it to Wm. Sumner who moved it to the corner later occupied by J. A. Tmey's clothing store. John Hartman was one of the early landlords that also included Wm. Sumner, Hans Mansfield, Wm. McAlmond, Dr. Barber, & Sam Bunting. |
