Scanned photograph of the interior of Gennrich & Rolf Farm Machinery, Hardware, Furniture Store in Lester Prairie Mn. Photo by E. H. Magaw, Lester Prairie. Acorn Stove promotion, 1904. Note the gas lamps and the pianos. A cash register and wrapping paper roll are on the counter at right. The stairway to the Furniture Exhibit upstairs remained in the building at least until 1950. The building was converted to housing and remained so in 2010. The mustached man leaning against a piano was likely a representative of the Acorn Stove company. A large advertisement of the Acorn Stove promotion appeared in the November 25, 1904 issue of the Lester Prairie News. |
