Description |
Black and white reproduction photograph of original wood-frame Winsted, MN Public School. Public School District 34 was organized in January, 1867. A one-roopm schoolhouse was built on the southeast corner of Second Street North and Winsted Avenue, and was the district school for twenty years. In 1886 the one-room schoolhouse was sold to Winsted Township, moved to Main Street, and used as a Town Hall. In 1986 it was the American Legion Building. Information taken from pages 34-35 of Winsted Centennial booklet, August 27, 1887-1987. |
