The Hutchinson Brothers were America's famous band of singers with their songs of reform and entertainment and their travels from coast to coast, including the Territory of Minnesota, where they explored and founded the town of Hutchinson, MN. Leopold Grozelier was born in 1830 in France and came to the United States in the early 1850s. He worked as a portrait painter in NYC in 1852 and as a lithographic artist in Boston from 1854 until his death in 1865. He died in Clarendon Springs, VT. In 1854 he was working for S. W. Chandler & Brother of Boston and in 1855 he married miniaturist Sara Peters. In 1860 he worked for F. F. Oakley on Washington St, Boston. His most renowned work is the Portrait Gallery of Distinguished Americans, which were copies after daguerreotypes, like many of his portraits. He studied at Bernard-Romain Julien, Paris (painting and lithography). His profession was portrait painter & lithographic draftsman. Washington Street is a street originating in downtown Boston, Massachusetts that extends southwestward to the Massachusetts–Rhode Island state line. The majority of it was built as the Norfolk and Bristol Turnpike in the early 19th century. It is the longest street in Boston, and it remains one of the longest streets in the state of Massachusetts. |
