Description |
Sepia toned photograph showing the interior of the Corner Bar, Hutchinson, MN. Unidentified are the three bartenders and patrons at the pool table. The bar and glass display cabinet are raised from the floor. The glass display case has a variety of cigar brands including Factory Bunch and Yellow King. At the front of the bar is a hanging towel and four spittoons and/or tobacco butt cans on the wooden floor. Light fixtures hanging in the center of the room and above the mirror behind the bar. At the far end of the bar appears to be an exhaust vent extending through the ceiling. A large moose head is mounted on the wall. Behind the display case on left is a hanging bunch of bananas, a photo of female dancers and signs advertising Sen-Sen. Behind the bar is a cabinet housing matches for sale at one cent. Photo mounted on photo board. The brick building at 3 Main Street North - the northeast corner of Washington Avenue and Main Street - dates to 1887. The original owner, C.W. Theuringer, rented it to Emil and Will Kiesler as a saloon. The upstairs offices were occupied by doctors and dentists. Subsequent owners included John Huderle and, beginning in the early 1930s, Z.E. Bolduc. |
