Charcoal drawing of Martin McLeod, Traverse des Sioux, July 17th, 1851. Drawn by L. C. Kouba in 1935 on textured paper. Leslie Carl Kouba was born in Hutchinson on February 3, 1917. A facsimile of the drawing was used on the cover of the 1978 McLeod County History book.

The occasion was the Down Home Tribute to Kouba at the McLeod County Historical Society Fundraising Dinner. The script for Coca-Cola was written upside down and backwards by Les Kouba as he spoke to the attendees about his life. The impromptu drawng by Kouba was auctioned off for $510 that evening.
