Black and white photograph of Mr. & Mrs. Silas J. Green. Silas Green was admired for his knack of woodcarving. He was a friend of the Vollmer family and lived in Winsted, MN for a time, c.1876. Mounted on gray photo board. In 1862 (August 13 to November 1) he was third sergeant with the Hutchinson Home Guard that protected Hutchinson, MN during the Sioux Indian Uprising. Sepia toned studio photograph of Mr. Wright wearing a full beard. He was said to be the first carpenter in Hutchinson. He helped build the Pendergast Academy and the home of William Andrews, located east of the public square at 7 Hassan St. It was occupied for many years by Mrs. Harry White and later by John White. Mr. Wright was a member of the Hutchinson Home Guards and was married to Eliza Chesney. He died in Durham, NH.
