Carving - Harrington-Merrill House Cat's Meow wood carving
Wooden machine carving of the Harrington-Merrill House, Hutchinson, by The Cat's Meow, 2004. Built in 1858 by Lewis Harrington, this is the oldest home in Hutchinson which survived the uprising of 1862. In 2004 restoration of the property began through a joint effort of the Historic Hutchinson Organization and the City of Hutchinson. Harrington famiy, 1858-1918; Merrill family, 1918-1990. Carving was created as a souvenir.

Lewis and Ellen Pendergast Harrington began building this house in a grove at 225 Washington Avenue West in the summer of 1858.
