   Civil War era leather cartridge box with leather shoulder sling strap. Has four tin compartments inside to hold cartridges for a musket and a small envelope pouch under the large flap. The top section held loose or individual cartridges and wrapped bundles (of ten) cartridges would be stored underneath. A "US" plate is on the flap.
