Sepia toned photographic postcard showing a vintage automobile decorated with bunting and a large flag for the 1914 Fourth of July parade in Lester Prairie, MN. Otto Fillbrandt is driving his Brush (Automobile) with John Hanson holding the colors. The Zummach and Fillbrandt blacksmithing building is in the background. It was located on the east side of Juniper in Lester Prairie. Otto was a Blacksmith for 45 years 35 of those in Lester Prairie, starting in 1909. Otto Fillbrandt bought a Brush automobile in 1910. After fifteen years of service it was dismantled and a wagon and water pump were constructed from the parts. An identical photo appears on page 42, Lester Prairie Golden Jubilee, 1937 book 2006-0222-001. Writing on back says "L P 1914." Identical photo is 2007-0279-001. |
