Scope & Content |
Black and white photographic postcard showing Pollack Avenue, Brownton, MN, looking south. The east side of the street is dominated by two story brick buildings and the west side is still mostly frame buildings with the exception of the bank on the corner. Autos are visible on the east side and utility poles are seen. The road is unpaved. There is some sort of sign in the middle of the road. The card was not sent but it has a message to Lilly Schwarzrock from Richard asking after her lunch. Attached is a news clipping from May 13, 1910 telling about the purchase of corner property by John Zeidler and R. Quimby of Minneapolis for the intention of building a second bank. The corner bank is shown on this card. The clipping also mentions the removal of hitching posts in Brownton.. |
