First train on Luce Line over bridge at Winsted Lake |
Scope & Content |
Sepia toned photographic postcard showing the first train on the Luce Line crossing over the bridge on Winsted Lake. The Luce Line first reached Winsted, MN on February 13, 1915, possibly captured by this photo. The original intent was to have the Luce line be electrically driven but the overhead wires were never installed. The engine shown is most likely gasoline-electric driven. People are assembled outside the train in the snow. |
