Scope & Content |
Black and white photographic postcard showing a steam tractor pulling a series of supply wagons. An enclosed wagon, said to be a cook car, is where the writer was living at the time. Two small children, Clara and Minnie Dallmann's girl, and an unidentified man are shown. The houses seen in the background are what made up Beach, North Dak. at that time. One of the houses is under construction. The note on the front of the card states that this photo was taken in April and since that time a dozen more had been built. The card is addressed to Mrs H. R. Fritze, Rt 5 Hutchinson, Minn. The Franklin one cent stamp was cancelled on July 15, 19__ at Beach, N.Dakota. The message speaks of "breaking" 300 acres of their 1/2 section, mentions Frank and Henry and the lack of rain. The photo is credited to Welch Photo, Beach N. Dakota. |
