The front of this card is the same as 1985-1138-008. Sepia toned photographic postcard of a tall building with "Phoenix Lumber Co. dealers in Builders Materials" on the front. Next to the building is the yard which has a wooden gate which rolls left and right to open and close. A man and small child are standing in the open gate. A second man is standing in the yard. Two large lumber piles are seen. The building has a door into it and a second door next to it which could be an entry to the lumberyard. A written label at the bottom says "At Forbes, N.D." The postcard is addressed to Mrs. H. R. Fritze, R #5, Hutchinson, Minn. from her sister Lydia. Message: Aug. 16. Dear Sister. She has not forgotten her sister but has been very busy. They just moved into their new house and are painting and papering. She will write a good, long letter on Sunday. She wishes her sister would write if she has time and asks her to kiss the dear little ones for her. She adds a note to the front of the card - "this is where Gust works". Postmark: Forbes, N. Dak. on Aug 17, 1909. Green 1 cent Franklin stamp. |
