Black and white photographic postcard of the Plato Maroons baseball team of Plato, MN, champions of McLeod County in 1907. The team is pictured in front of a brick building; a sign in the window says "Bank of Plato". A poster advertising a Harvest Picnic on Sunday, September 8th is displayed in the window. Team members and their manager are unidentified. Sent to Mr. Roy Vollmer, Omemee, No. Dak., A. F. Minder writes that the team shut out Glencoe at Norwood with a score of 6-0 for a $150 purse. Champions of McLeod Co. Postmarked September 19, 1907 at an unreadable location, postmarked again at Omemee, ND on September 21, 1907. Green one-cent Franklin stamp. |
