Description Set of four matching artificial floral corsages, a boutonniere, and a veil headpiece from the wedding of Emma Debner to John von der Brelje on November 29, 1917. They lived in the Plato area & were uncle and aunt to donor Mathilda Mueller Heckmann.
Emma was born January 20, 1895, daughter of Henry & Bertha Lepel Debner. She died September 20, 1983.
John Henry Brelje, son of Herman and Bertha Schaldock Brelje was born June 30, 1892 at Glencoe MN. His mother died when he was eight years old. On November 29, 1917 he married Emma Debner. In June, 1918 he entered the service of the U. S. Army. He participated in the Battle of the Argonne in France. In May 1919 he was honorably discharged. A resident of Plato since 1925 he engaged in tiling with Orlando Wuetherich. He served as Chief of Police and of the Fire Department. He died November 7, 1960.
