Worn by Marjory & Doris Rotzien [top has name Marjory; skirt has name Doris] in the 1940s for performances with Miss Louise Nagel's tapdancing class in Hutchinson, MN. Pupils trained under the WPA recreational program. For more than ten years Marjory and her sister Doris Rotzien Nelson took lessons upstairs in City Hall and did recitals & performances at the State Theatre, old Armory, School, City Hall, and at the Grandstand at the McLeod County Fair. The sisters were the last students of Miss Nagel still dancing as teenagers. Costumes would correspond with the music of the particular dance. All costumes for her daughters were made by Genevieve Jensen Rotzien, mother of Marjory and Doris Rotzien.
