Hutchinson High School Class of 1915. 1912 was written lower right and one of the back row boys has a penciled X above his head. Card is addressed to Hazel Richards, Minneapolis, MN . The missing stamp was canceled ___3,1912. Message opens "Dear Sis".

Hutchinson High School pennant with a picture of the Merrill School (built in 1912) on the left and "Hutchinson" in gold lettering on the right. Light brown felt with black felt backing. Believed to be from the year donor Art Benjamin's father graduated in the early 1900s. Arthur John Benjamin graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1915. He was born March 28, 1895, the son of Robert and Martha McBroom Benjamin on a farm east of Hutchinson known as Walnut Vista. He was proud of the pioneer heritage of his grandparents, Dr. John and Elizabeth Benjamin and the part they played in the settlement of Hutchinson, the stockade and their friendship with Sioux Chief Little Crow. Black & white 1911 photograph of a group of six Hutchinson eighth grade girls arranged by height. Lela Maude Thayer is second from left. Others named on the reverse are Arlein Sauter, Lucille Putney, Lillie Baitinger, Gladys Sauter. [HHS Class of 1915] The photo belonged to Lela Maude Thayer Cummings who grew up in Hutchinson with her brothers Elmer and Fred. They were grandchildren of Charles & Martha Coombs Andrews, early Hutchinson settlers. Charles Andrews came in 1857 with the Pendergast family. Charles & Martha Coombs Andrews were great grandparents of the donor Jane Kirby.
